Enterprise Ireland, East Point Business Park, hosted a charity book sale on Tuesday 25th October. Employees generously donated their romantic novels, thrillers, children’s books and cookery books. Staff members recommended their favourite books, which generated much excitement among the avid readers. The proceeds of this sale are kindly being given to Friends in Ireland. Terrible rain and flooding the previous night, which continued that morning, did not dampen anyone’s spirits. There was a great turn out of keen readers, purchasing for themselves, friends and family. The great selection of titles made the book sale very successful on the day. The book stand continued to generate sales even after the official book sale ended and an incredible €1026 was raised. We would like to give a special thanks to the individuals who kindly helped to make this event a success as well as the sports and social club for making a very generous donation. We would also like to thank all the staff at Enterprise Ireland for their generosity and enthusiasm at this event.
On Friday 21st October, Ernest and Young held a ‘Denim Day’ in aid of Friends in Ireland. By contributing a small donation, employees got the chance to catwalk their best denims for the day in honour of a great cause. €435 was raised which will be of great benefit to the charity’s objectives. Friends in Ireland greatly appreciates the funds that were raised and hopes that everyone involved enjoyed delving in the delights of denim.
On December 8th, Friends in Ireland will take place in the Deloitte Christmas Bazaar. This event looks set to be a great day for all involved. An array of stalls will set up in-house and staff members will get the chance to purchase from a wide variety of gifts. Due to Friends in Ireland’s Dublin offices being located within the Deloitte Building, we have kindly been offered a stall at this event. Friends in Ireland will be selling Christmas teddy bears as well as South African handcrafts and the sales from these will contribute to the running of our centres in South Africa. |
